Overview

This position is responsible for compiling and analyzing financial information for an organization. He/she develops integrated revenue/expense analyses, projections, reports, presentations and conducts research to prepare IBNR reports. He/she creates and analyzes monthly, quarterly and annual reports and ensures financial information has been recorded accurately and identifies trends and developments in competitive environments and presents findings to management. He/she performs actual to budget variance analysis on a monthly basis as well as performs financial forecasting and reconciliation of internal accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Monthly financial close responsibilities
  • Financial modeling
  • Medical expense reporting
  • Provide auditing of hospital contracts and provider reimbursements
  • Payment analysis
  • Assist with preparation of annual budget and quarterly forecasts
  • Trend calculations
  • Data reconciliations
  • Gather business requirements and complete advanced ad-hoc analyses and reports
  • Coordinate activities with auditors and actuary
  • Return on investment calculations
  • Represent the department at cross functional meetings
  • Provide support to finance management team
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required:

  • S. in Business or business related field
  • Three (3) to Five (5) years of relevant professional experience
  • Advanced spreadsheet skills (Excel)
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases
  • Budget experience
  • Financial modeling skills
  • Business analysis experience
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to recognize and recommend process improvements
  • Desire to take ownership of work
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Demonstrated team approach

Preferred:

  • Managed care experience
  • Knowledge of Cognos business intelligence software
  • Incurred But Not Reported (IBNR) preparation experience
  • Managed care contracting experience
  • Knowledge of statistics for calculating medical expense trends
  • Knowledge of time value of money concepts
  • SQL experience
  • Adaptive Insight’s Planning Software
