Overview

The Human Resource Assistant is responsible for the administrative support of day-to-day human resource operations. The Human Resources Assistant also provides support to Human Resources functions and staff to assist with special projects and events.

Responsibilities

Any and all administrative duties that support all functional Human Resources areas. Essential functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Answers phones for the HR department.
  • Responsible for managing/scheduling the calendars of the Manager of OL&MD and the Director of Human Resources.
  • Assists with Diversity & Inclusion events.
  • Performs HRIS and OL&MD data entry and personnel file maintenance.
  • Assists employees and supervisors with basic interpretation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Assists with new-employee orientations.
  • Maintains confidential personnel files and personnel actions.
  • Responds to reference checks and verifications of employment status.
  • Assists the department with HR projects.
  • Assists with compensation & benefits administration.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Manager of OL&MD and/or the Director of Human Resources.
  • Corporate Compliance Responsibility - As an essential function, responsible for complying with Neighborhood’s Corporate Compliance Program, Standards of Business Conduct, applicable contracts, laws, rules and regulations, policies, and procedures as it applies to individual job duties, the department, and  the Company. This position must exercise due diligence to prevent, detect, and report unlawful and/or unethical conduct by fellow co-workers, professional affiliates and/or agents.

Qualifications

Required:                

  • Two years of experience in a direct administrative support role
  • High school degree
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent customer service orientation
  • Proven organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to take direction and support a multitude of individuals
  • Ability to work independently

Preferred:

  • Two years of experience in a human resources and/or compliance role
  • Bachelor degree
  • HR Certificate
  • Experience with HR data systems
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Project, Visio, SharePoint and Publisher
  • Business and / or technical writing experience
