  • Overview

    This position manages and executes communication projects that enhance the provider experience and meet Federal, State, and organizational requirements.  This position plays a pivotal role in influencing and educating providers and the organization and will be responsible for planning, developing and implementing ongoing communication programs and initiatives for the department and the provider network.

    Responsibilities

    • Design, implement and monitor a unified communications process
    • Collaborate departmentally and inter- departmentally to develop internal and external communications
    • Coordinate and manage the web site, including provider- specific content and the provider newsletter
    • Create, implement and maintain departmental workflows, task procedures and policies and procedures
    • Oversee communication channels, projects, schedules, and workflows in order to optimize business results and ensure exceptional customer experiences
    • Responsible for coordinating accurate and timely updates of the provider directories that satisfy requirements for all lines of business
    • Serve as content and subject matter expert (SME) for the department
    • Create ad- hoc communications
    • Research and develop innovative strategies for provider communication
    • Responsible for complying with Neighborhood’s Corporate Compliance Program, Standards of Business Conduct, applicable contracts, laws, rules and regulations, policies and procedures as it applies to individual job duties, the department, and the Company. This position must exercise due diligence to prevent, detect and report unlawful and/or unethical conduct by fellow co-workers, professional affiliates and/or agents
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    Required: 

    • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications or equivalent discipline, or an equivalent amount of education and experience
    • Five (5)+ years’ of progressively responsible communications experience
    • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
    • Experience in graphic design (Photoshop, InDesign)
    • Experience in HTML
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
    • Ability to work independently/without direct supervision
    • Detail oriented, with the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
    • Excellent customer service skills
    • Excellent Customer Service Skills
    • Excellent written and strong business communication skills (written and verbal) public relations, presentation and facilitation skills
    • Knowledge of billing practices and reimbursement methodologies
    • Understanding of provider operations as they relate to health plans
    • Ability to train staff, as applicable
    • Ability to travel including reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance

    Preferred:

    • Experience in health plan provider relations
    • Experience in Cognos
    • Experience in MedInsight
    • Experience in SharePoint
    • Knowledge of Quality Improvement Processes (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma)
    • Managed care organization or a health care related organization (e.g. HMO, Medicaid, Medicare)
